Edna Elizabeth West

with family at her bedside. She was 94 years old at the time of her death. She lived most of her

life in Culpeper County. She graduated from Herndon High School on June 13, 1946.She received a Home Nursing Degree in Fairfax County on May 18, 1944. She was born August 16, 1928 in Herndon, Va in Fairfax County. She was married on February 21,1952 to James Winfre West.

Edna was predeceased by her husband James on January 3, 1989. Her father, Vernie Proffitt in 1968 and her mother, Leta May Arthur Proffitt in 1982. She was also predeceased by her siblings Margaret, Polly,

Lewis, Doris and Virgil.

She had six children. James Edward, Sharon Elizabeth, Brian Randolph,

Anita Kulovic, Ruth West Setti, and Thomas Lucas West. She had 10 grandchildren, Erin, Zachary, Lisa, Jessica, Leeann, Amanda,Elizabeth, Julianna, Donald James and Jacob. She also had many great

grandchildren.

Edna had a wonderful sense of humor and was always a calm, loving voice during troubled Ames. She loved reading and was able to travel to some of the places she loved reading about. Her greatest happiness was spending time with her large, extended family.
