Hudson was first and foremost a family man. His entire world revolved around them. From their biggest accomplishments to their smallest mistakes, he was first in line to be their biggest supporter.
With thousands of miles behind him, Hudson worked 65 years going door to door working for wholesale hardware companies in Virginia and in North Carolina as well. Sixty of those years were spent on the road calling on retail hardware and building suppliers with a handshake and a smile.
Surviving Hudson is his wife Gloria, his children, Bonnie Gilman Pullin and her husband Kemp and John Gilman and his wife Lorrie, grandchildren, Stacey Clapp (Tyler), Brandon Gilman( Kimberly), Justin Gilman (Cassidy), great-grandchildren, Gavin Clapp, Peyton Clapp and Holden Gilman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Ida Carpenter.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 17, 2019 in Fairview Cemetery, Culpeper, VA with his nephew, Pastor Scott Carpenter officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, May 16, 2019 at Clore-English Funeral Home, 11190 James Monroe Highway, Culpeper, VA.
