Vonda Lee Bates

Mrs. Vonda Lee Bates of Cullman Alabama passed away on Wednesday, July 4, 2012 at Cullman Regional Medical Center at the age of 81. She was born in Cullman Alabama on August 5, 1930 to Sharp and Verla Thompson Edmondson. She is preceded in death by her parents, Husband: Robert "Buddy" Shannon, Brother: Earston Edmondson, and a son-in-law: Dr. John T. Murphy. She was a homemaker.

Funeral services will be held on Friday July 6, 2012 at Moss Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Gary Waddell officiating. Interment will be in Hopewell Cemetery in Hanceville Alabama.

Survivors are: Husband: Floyd Bates, 2 Sons: Bob (Judy) Shannon and Joe (Carlene) Shannon, 4 step-sons: Gary (Gail) Bates, Terry (Mary) Bates, Ricky Bates and Randy (Glenda) Bates, 1 Daughter: Teresa Murphy, step-daughter: Shelia (Crandall) Holloway, 2 sisters: Hazel Foster and Pat Maddox, 5 grandchildren: Chad (Misty) Shannon, Shannon (John David) Cassady, Josh (Candace) Shannon, Jarrod Shannon and Rachel Shannon, 6 Great Grandchildren: Haley and Wynn Shannon, Isabella and Rivers Cassady and Joshua and Elijah Shannon.

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 6, 2012 at Moss Funeral Home fron 11:00 A.M. until service time at 2 P.M.

In lieu of flowers, the family ask that donations be made to the charity or organization of one's choice.
