Susie Pruitt, 84, of Vinemont passed away on Saturday, February 16, 2019. Born to Frank and Lula Armstrong of Eva, Alabama, Susie spent her adult life in Bethsadia, Eva, Cullman and Vinemont.
Susie worked in the lunchroom at East Elementary before being promoted to Manager of the Cullman High School Cafeteria where she retired in 1997. She took great enjoyment in providing a nourishing, warm meal (and great desserts) to her students.
Susie was preceded in death by her father and mother, Frank and Lula Armstrong; brother, David Armstrong; husband, Paul Pruitt; and, son, Michael Pruitt. She is survived by her brother, Donald (Betty) Armstrong; two sons, Keith (Tammy) Pruitt and Wade (Leslie) Pruitt; three grandsons, Joshua Pruitt, Benjamin Pruitt and Clay Pruitt; and one great-granddaughter, Evelyn Pruitt; three nephews, Stephen Armstrong, Frank Armstrong and Scott (Kim) Smith; three nieces Connie (Chris) Gibbs, Renae Harris Lovetto and Nicole (Turk) Hancock; and, many great-nieces and nephews.
Susie’s pride and joy were her three boys, grandchildren and great-grandchild. She was a faithful supporter of Cullman Pioneer and Bearcat basketball programs, youth baseball and countless other school events. Susie was a member of Northside Baptist Church in Cullman, Alabama for over fifty years.
Visitation will be at Moss Service Funeral Home on Thursday, February 21st from 6PM-8PM . A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 22nd at 2PM in the Moss Service Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be at Mount Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery, 17478 US Highway 31 North, Cullman, Alabama.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to Northside Baptist Church, 1310 Katherine Street NW, Cullman, Alabama 35055.
