Mitch was a kind gentle person. It was a blessing to have known him. Know you will miss him every day. 

Mitch was definitely one of a kind. He loved to laugh and make others laugh too. He is one of the strongest men I’ve ever known. So strong he could throw his brothers off the pier into the lake.  He was humble in all the challenges he faced. I’ve never heard a complaint coming out of his mouth, unless you turned his TV on baseball. He loved him some Kenny Rodgers and Elvis. He would walk around flipping the CD case (or cassette case back in the day) while listening to the music and playing the TV at the same time. His memory amazed me and I loved to here him laugh. He was the only person who called me Stephanie Marie.  
 He opened my eyes to so much and for that I'm eternally grateful. I pray you are on a lake riding in the fanciest boat with Elvis by your side. You will be greatly missed by all, but the most by your momma whole loved you beyond words. You definitely got your strength from her. Rest in the arms of Jesus Mitch. We love you. 

Mitch was a special person. Regardless of his sickness everyone enjoyed being around Mitch. Even through all the hospital stays over the last three months, he never complained about it. He went through more in the last three months than most people go through in a lifetime, not even counting  what he went through since he developed schizophrenia in his teens.

He loved his immediate family and extended family, always speaking of them. He loved his boat rides, and thank goodness he finally gave up on Auburn and become an Alabama fan :)  

While the last three months of hospital stays were rough I would not trade that time spent with him during that time for anything. His last three months on this earth he was able to see in action how he was loved and cared for. I pray that is what he took with him when he left this earth and moved into Heaven.
He can finally walk completely, think clearly and have a drink of his coffee or Dr. Pepper without worry. He was welcomed into Heaven by grandparents, cousins, aunts and uncles. 

A special thanks to Hanceville Nursing Home for taking care of Mitch over the last few years and family that visited and ministered to him over the last three months.

I love you Mitch and long to see you when I reach the other side.

Mitch was the sweetest human being to everyone he met.  He was so quiet and courageous in his mental health struggles in life.  He loved his family and showed it with his constant smile and gentle nature every time we saw him.  I am so glad Mitch and my brother had each other during the tough times and we all had each other in our Nami Birmingham family in the better times.  Godspeed Mitch. I am still in Branson.  (I remember the time we were here with you, and took in shows, and the silly joke we laughed over so much)

Even though Mitch had a tough life with his mental illness and later Tardive Dyskinesia he never complained and he never let it keep him from enjoying life and spreading his smile and humor with others.  So many times I have heard nurses and staff tell me how they loved Mitch and how he would cut up with them .  They would tell me that Mitch would make their day even though he may be having  a really bad day himself.  That is just who he was.

To see what Mitch had to endure on a daily basis and never complain and then to look back at my life and times I felt sorry for myself about things in my personal life, I realize just how my problems pale in comparison and just how strong Mitch was.  He was a strong man and never let any of his issues get him down nor did he allow it to keep him from enjoying life and making others laugh.

Oh how I wish I could hear him say, “when are we going for a boat ride again”.  I wish I could sit with him and drink a cup of coffee or have a biscuit with Golden Eagle syrup.  The little things we take for granted are some of the fondest memories I look back at now.

My brother will be sorely missed but his memories will live on in each of us.  God has a special person now and I know Mitch is spreading his love and his humor to everyone he meets.  It was an honor to have you as my twin brother and I love you and miss you.  The last couple of months I was able to share some good times with you and I will cherish those memories.  I know I will see you again one day.  Thank you God for giving Mitch to me!  I love you Mitch ❤️

So many happy memories of time shared with Mitch.  I have played back so many of those in my mind the past couple of weeks. 
 If anyone could bring a smile to your face it was Mitch and he loved making people smile and laugh. 
 Mitch had such a caring heart for his family and friends and watching him over the past year especially I have no hesitation in saying he was as tough or tougher than anyone I know. He endured and fought hard until God provided his ultimate healing. Even with all he endured I never heard him complain or ask why. So happy to know Mitch, my Dad, my sister and grandparents are all together celebrating Mitch’s healing.

This is Mike Henderson. I want to say how much I enjoyed playing with Mitch and Mike when we were children. Mitch was a wonderful person and I loved being with him very much!
