Larry Dale Brown, 67, of Virginia Beach, Virginia (formerly of Bremen, Alabama), peacefully passed away at his residence on May 13, 2022. Larry is survived by wife, Brenda Sue Hill-Brown, children, Kevin (Lyn) Brown, Jeffrey (Courtney) Brown of Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina, Steven (Kristen) Brown of Virginia Beach, Stepchildren Jamey Parks of Piggot, Arkansas, and Sam Cox of Owensboro, Kentucky, five grandchildren, Austen, Xavier, Annabelle, Abigail and Angelica, Gage Parks, James Parks, Mother, Myrvlene Brown of Bremen, and five siblings, Roger (Patsy) Brown, Rita Brown, Gary Brown, Byron (Janet) Brown, and Darwin Brown, a host of nephews, nieces and great nephews and nieces. Preceded in death by his father, Clarence Brown of Bremen, sister-in-law, Donna Payne-Brown, Niece, Danielle Brown and Great Niece, Olivia Myers.
Larry served on active duty in the United States Navy for 23 years, retiring at the rank of Senior Chief Petty Officer. His dedicated service earned him many prestigious awards and afforded him the opportunity of visiting a number of foreign countries while serving on some of the world’s best aircraft carriers assigned on the East Coast of the United States. Larry’s personality was always friendly and full of life and is a testament to the tremendous number of friendships both inside and outside the ranks of the U.S. Navy family.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, May 28, 2022, at the Moss Service Funeral Home Chapel, Cullman, Alabama. The family will receive guests and friends from 10:00 – 11:00 am and funeral services will take at place 11:00 am, Brother Delbert Freeman officiating, followed by Interment with military honors at the Johnson Grove Cemetery, Brushy Pond, Alabama.
