Kathryn Waters James died peacefully Sunday, April 9, 2023 surrounded by her family. She was born August 2, 1939, the youngest child of Virgil and Myrtie Waters, in Cullman County. She attended West Point High School, graduating in 1957. She later attended business college in Birmingham and eventually made her way to Montgomery where she met the love of her life, Charles L. James, Jr. Upon his retirement from the Air Force, they made a life together in St. Petersburg, Florida where they had many friends. Kathryn was preceded in death by her parents, sister Kathleen, brothers Kenneth and Kiefer, and husband Charles (Chick). She was a loving, kind person who treasured her friends and family. Graveside service will be Wednesday, April 12, 2023 at Bethlehem West Cemetery at 11:00. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
