In loving memory of a remarkable, yet simple man who touched the lives of many. He was a devoted family man, pouring love into his large family, including numerous grandkids and great-grandchildren, nephews, and a host of family and friends. His dedication and hard work were evident in all he did for his family. A proud veteran, he served in the US Army during the Vietnam War, showing immense courage and patriotism. He had countless friends who will forever cherish the fun times that were had. His legacy of love, hard work, and friendship will forever remain in our hearts.
In commemorating his life, we pay tribute to a life well lived, defined by love, hard work, and unpolished rugged allure that left an enduring impact on all fortunate enough to cross his path. We can continue on the James Wood tradition by watching the Tide play, dropping a line in the water any chance you can, buck dancing, loving your family and friends with all your heart, and being kind to all those you meet.
He is survived by his Wife – Jane Wood; Children – Tammy (Buddy) Franey, Daks Wood, Georgia (Chaz) Sumlin; Grandchildren – Brandon (Cecily) Miner, Joseph (Tess) Franey, Tucker (Lena) Franey, Colten & Jackson Rayborn, and Charlie & George Sumlin; Great grandchildren – Wood, Cross, Paislee, Willa Grace; Brother – Windell (Debbie) Wood; Nephews, and a host of Family and Friends
