Funeral Services for Mr. Hugh “Bud” Wright, Jr., age 82 of Cullman, will be held on Sunday, August 21, 2011 at 3:30 p.m. in the Moss-Service Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at the Duck River Cemetery, with Rev. Lane Howard officiating.

Mr. Wright was born in Walker Co.AL on November 18, 1928 to Hugh Wight, Sr. and Edith Wilson Wright. He passed away on Friday, August 19, 2011 at Cullman Regional Medical Center. He joined the US Army on October 24 1950 and was assigned to the 45th Infantry Division of the Eight US Army, Company D Combat Engineers 120th Battalion also known as the “Thunderbirds” where he served in the Korean Conflict . After his service to his country, he came home and worked as a volunteer firefighter; and the Jasper City Inspector; became a self taught Master Electrician, started a trucking Co., which led his work as the Superintendant for Sun Coal Co.; and other’s in North Alabama.
Bud is preceded in death by his parents, one grandson, Matt Allen; a daughter-in-law, Jan Wright; and two brothers, Graham E. Wright and Willard Bill Wright.
Survivors include, his Wife – Sandra S. Wright; one Daughter – Donna Sue Allen; two 2 – Sons – Bruce Wright and Tony Barnett; four 4 – Grandchildren – Wesley Allen, Jeremy Wright, Brittney and Courtney Barnett; and four 4 – Great-Grandchildren – Lane and Nathan Allen, Zach Allen and Noah Wright.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Saturday, August 20, 2011.
Pallbearers will be, Jeremy Wright, Wesley Allen, David Allen, Richard Clanton, Rick Story, Sam Story, Bob Story.
Honorary Pallbearers will be, The past and present members of Company “D”, 120th Combat Engineers, 45th Infantry Division of the US Army, Dr. Mike Hall, Graham Hall, Paulette Trimble, Friends and Coworkers.
