Mr. Herman D. Trammell

Funeral Services for Mr. Herman D. Trammell, age 85 of Cullman, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 2, 2012 in the Moss-Service Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery, with Rev. Jerry Freeman and Rev. James Fields officiating.

Mr. Trammell was born on November 19, 1926 in Cullman to the late Gus Lee Trammell and Gladys Stewart Trammell. He passed away on Friday, September 28, 2012 at his residence surrounded by his family.

As a third generation, self employed owner of Trammell Construction, he built many residential and commercial buildings in Cullman. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Cullman, he played an active role in city and state politics, and was involved in civic matters for many years.

He is preceded in death by his parents, an infant daughter, Jerail Dean Trammell; brother, Sherman Trammell; sister, Mozell Bartlett; four grandsons, Ronald Trammell, Shawn Trammell, Jonathan Trammell and Dustin Marchman.

Survivors include his Wife of 68 years – Dorothy Laminack Trammell; 4 – Sons – Dewell (Donna) Trammell, Doug (Cecilia) Trammell, Dannie (Lisa) Trammell and Donald (Carol) Trammell; 4 – Daughters – Shelby (Keith) Smith, Sandra (David) Duke, Cyndi (Larry) Watwood and Renea (Ricky) Marchman; one Brother – Buford (Marie) Trammell; 20 – Grandchildren; 32 – Great-Grandchildren; and a whole host of Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, Friends & Loved Ones.

The family will receive friends for visitation at the funeral home on Monday, October 1, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.

Pallbearers will be Josh Culwell, Adam Marchman, James Trammell, Robert Smith, Isaac Smith and Jeff Trammell and two Honorary Pallbearers Kevin Trammell, and Jordan Trammell.
