Funeral services for Mr. Gregory “Greg” A. Quattlebaum, age 63 of West Point, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 20, 2011 in the Moss-Service Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Ebenezer Cemetery, with Rev. Clint Lee and Rev. Larry Duke officiating.
Moss-Service Funeral Home of Cullman is in charge of arrangements.
Greg passed away after a courageous battle with cancer, at his residence, on Thursday, March 17, 2011. He was born on May 24, 1947in Cullman County, to Charles D. Quattlebaum and Mable V. Mewbourn Quattlebaum. He was a graduate of West point H.S. class of 1965, had served in the U.S. Airforce from 1966 – 70; and was a retired warehouse supervisor and loved “Golf”.
He is preceded in death by his father, one brother – Alvin D. Quattlebaum and one infant brother.
Survivors include his Mother – Virginia Quattlebaum; Beloved Wife of 43 years – Janice Roberts Quattlebaum; two Sons – Todd G. (Kristie) Quattlebaum of Cullman and Chad A. Quattlebaum of West Point; a Grandson who was his “pride and joy” – Tyler M. Quattlebaum of Cullman; two Brothers – Randy L. (Glenda) Quattlebaum of Hanceville and Charles E. “Buddy” Quattlebaum of Cullman; and numerous Nieces, Nephews and many Friends.
Visitation services will be at the funeral home on Saturday, March 19, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
Pallbearers will be his “Golfing Buddies” John Powell, David Marsh, Frank Jones, Buford Burgess, Roger Watson, Sam Tune and Joel Turner; Honorary Pallbearers will be Tyler Quattlebaum, James Walker, Eddie Walker, Claude Petty, Alton Sullins and Frankie Duke.
In Lieu-of-Flowers, the family request memorial gifts be made too – The Special Olympics I/C of Carol Taylor at 2716 Ashville Drive Decatur, AL 35603 or to Omega Hospice at 101 2nd Avenue, S.E. Cullman, Al 35055.
The family would like to extend a “Special Thanks” to Omega Hospice; and to Don & Anne Davis; John & Janice Powell; James & Joyce Walker and Eddie & Betty Walker.
