Mr. Collett, a WWII Navy Veteran, spent the first part of his life in Attalla, AL. married to Nell Jo Collett. While in Attalla, he was a longtime member and deacon at Cherry Street Baptist Church, a member and Chaplain at the Etowah County Rescue Squad and worked at Plumbers Wholesale. He enjoyed his hobby of being a cattle farmer and working outside. He frequently attended the cattle sale at the Kilpatrick Stockyard.
After Nell’s passing, he met and married Maxine Collett and relocated to Cullman. He continued his love of cattle and enjoyed going to the Cullman Stockyard.
He was preceded in death by both wives and son-in-law, Ernest E. Basson.
He is survived by his daughter, Billie Basson; granddaughters: Angela (Lynn) Claburn and Victoria “Tora” (Bradley) Berry; great grandchildren: Justin (Jaimie) Camper, Andrea Henderson and Jaclyn Berry and 6 great great grandchildren. Aaron also had 1 stepson and step daughter-in-law; 1 stepdaughter and step son-in-law; 7 step grandchildren and 11 step great grandchildren.
His family will receive friends at Moss Service Funeral Home on Monday, January 6, 2020 from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. The Celebration of Life Funeral Service will begin in the chapel at 11:00 a.m. with Bro. Jimmy Baker officiating. Burial will follow at Crestwood Cemetery in East Gadsden at 2:00 p.m. with Bro. Sammy O’dell officiating.
