Richard Kenneth Mortimer, 79, passed away on February 1, 2021. Born on April 8, 1941, to Richard and Thelma Mortimer. He married Isabel Mistretta on November 24, 1958. They celebrated 60 wonderful years together. They raised their family in Crystal Lake, IL., and enjoyed spending time at their lake house in the U.P. of Michigan. Ken was a loving husband and father, adoring grandfather and great grandfather, and a friend to many. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Ken was the loving father of Gene (Laurie) Mortimer, Mary (Keith) Anderson, and Steven (Melissa) Mortimer; and father-in-law of Terry Murphy. Cherished grandfather of Kelly (Michael) Chesna, Garrett Anderson, Jenny (David) Williams, Brandon (Julia) Mortimer, Amanda (Michael) Glindeman and Lauren (Jordan McDaniel) Murphy. Proud great-grandfather of Riley Mortimer. Dear brother of Jerry Mortimer, Rod (Krista) Mortimer, Lisa (Tony) Sigo, and the brother-in-law of Kathy Mortimer.
Preceded in death by his beloved wife Isabel, daughter Dawn, and brother Larry Mortimer.
Mass will be held at Saint Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church located at 451 W. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake, IL. 60014, on Monday, August 1, 2022, at 10 AM, followed by a funeral procession to Windridge Memorial Park.
