She was born March 24, 1947 in Elgin to Peter and Vernice (Cottingham) Madsen Sr.
Patricia retired from Walmart after seven years of service. She enjoyed working in the garden, reading and watching her grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughters, Kathryn (Sean) Quirk and Patricia “Kelly” (James) Cuellar; her grandchildren, Lawrence and Abigail Quirk, Gavyn, Ethan, and Kaylee Cuellar; her siblings, Jeanette (Glenn) McBeth and Stephanie (Ralph) Kaufmann; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harold E. Elder Jr.; and her siblings, Lavoyce Veugeler, Mary Madsen, Peter Madsen Jr., and Judy Madsen.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7pm on Friday, February 5 at Querhammer & Flagg Funeral Home, 500 W. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake. There will be a memorial service at 7pm.
