Mark A. Gehrke

Mark’s passing has left a hole in our hearts. He will be missed dearly by many. His memory will live on forever.

He was an avid Chicago Cubs and Bears fan; who would give the shirt off of his back or his last dollar to anyone in need. Mark had a heart of gold and loved being with family and friends. He loved to have cookouts and invite everyone over. He loved eagles…Soar with the eagles Mark…Rest in Paradise.

He is survived by his sons who meant the world to him, Austin and Devon Gehrke of McHenry, IL; his father, Gerald (Kathy) Gehrke Sr. of Pontiac, MI; mother, Ellen (George) Rigsby of Freeport, IL; brothers, Gerald Gehrke Jr. of Lake Zurich, IL, James Gehrke of New Iberia, LA, Paul (Becky) Geishert of Capron, IL and Cory (Kris) Lawrence of Higgins Lake, MI; sisters, Kelly (Jim) Hoste of Lapeer, MI and Katie (Brandon) Rumfelt of Tennessee Ridge, TN; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by all of his grandparents and a very dear cousin, Shane Farel.

Visitation 12 p.m. until time of memorial service at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 7, 2016 at Querhammer and Flagg Funeral Home, 500 W. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to his sons for the cost of his funeral expenses. All memorials would be greatly appreciated.
