She was born June 11, 1928 in San Francisco, CA to George and Ruth (Swanson) Polland. She had many fond memories of her childhood spent in Maine with her brother, George.
Marilyn retired from Illinois Bell Telephone and IMC. Marilyn was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the American Legion, and the United Methodist Church in The Villages, Florida. She enjoyed crafting, gardening, and cooking. Time spent with family and friends was always cherished. Her love of story telling will always be remembered.
Marilyn is survived by her children, Judy (Alva) Reid, Ruth (Glenn) Berntsen, Carol (Terry) Hefley, Linda (Al) La Lond, William "Scott" (Pam) Ford; her grandchildren, Lori Sykes, Kimberly Adcock, Eric Mc Afee, Jeffrey Berntsen, Dana Schwemmer, Brad Hudspeth, Scotty Ford, Gage Ford, Angel and Georgie Ford; her step-grandson, Tim Schulz; her 13 great-grandchildren; her three great-great-grandchildren; her brother, George Polland; and her niece, Carolyn Jowett; and her cousins, Nancy Bjerstedt, Sister John Mary of Jesus, OCD, and Gary McFadden.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lt. James C. Creek, SC, USN; her parents; her son, George "Sonny" Ford; her sister-in-law, Haruko Polland.
Services will be private for the family.
