Karen Ann Sturtevant, 68, of South Beloit, formerly of Carpentersville, passed away April 18, 2017 in her home. Born February 24, 1949 in Waukegan; she was the daughter of Oswald “Albert” and Laverne (Wehle) Manthey. She married James Sturtevant on June 12, 1965 in Chicago.
A loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Karen enjoyed raising her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, crotcheting which included making Afghans for anyone who had a baby, find a word puzzles and cooking.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, James Sturtevant; children, James (Chaun) Sturtevant and Kimberly Sturtevant; grandchildren, Kayla Sturtevant and James Sturtevant-Howe; great-grandchildren, Anthony and Gavin Corona; sister, Dale Aliotta; and brother, Richard Manthey.
Karen was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Brian Manthey and nephew, Albert “J” Aliott Jr.
