Joseph "Joe" James Vorisek

Visitation will be from 5 to 8pm on Sunday August 3rd at Querhammer & Flagg Funeral Home, 500 W. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30am on Monday, August 4th at St. Thomas Catholic Church, 451 W. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake. Interment will be private.

Joe was the first child born to Katherine “Kay” Wynn and Robert B. Vorisek on June 1, 1951 in Osaka, Japan. Joe graduated from Crystal Lake High School in 1972.

Joe was employed by Oak Industry and Crystal Lake Community School District for many years. He was an avid fan of the Marian Central Hurricanes and Crystal Lake Tigers as well of the musical and drama performances. At St. Thomas Church, Joe was a Lay Franciscan and a member of the Knights of Columbus. In spite of his cerebral palsy, Joe was an avid runner and cyclist.

Joseph was preceded in death by his mother, Katherine Louise Wynn Vorisek.

Joseph is survived his father, Robert B. Vorisek, his sisters Mary Ann Vorisek (Bill) Dilla, of Ames, IA, Katherine “Kitty” Vorisek (Donald Einbecker) of Chicago, IL and his brother, Robert F. (Kathryn) Vorisek of Glenview, IL. He is also survived by 8 nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Pioneer Center of McHenry County, 4001 Dayton St., McHenry, IL 60050.
