Jeffery Alan Potter, age 57, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 9th 2024, in Barrington, IL surrounded by his family. He was born on May 30, 1966, in Chicago, IL., the son of the late Laurence and Carla (Anderson) Potter. He was a resident of Crystal Lake, IL., and was a 1984 graduate of Crystal Lake Central High School.
He married the love of his life, Bobbie Jo Roewer on November 10, 1989, in Crystal Lake, IL. The two were lifelong companions and friends that did everything together. They were blessed with four children Amber Potter, Jeff (Chrissy Franger) Potter, David (Rachel Piacentini) Potter and Samantha (Peter Kazaka) Potter, and three grandchildren; Jeffery Jr. (JJ), Faye and Rhett.
He was co-owner of A1 Equipment Sales and Service Inc. and built strong relationships with his customers. Jeff was a people person and always had the ability to make anyone smile. Family and friends meant the world to Jeff. He was always in the company of his wife and kids, grandkids and their family dogs. He made many close friends over the years and could start up and hold conservation with just about anyone especially when it came to one of his greatest passions cars. Jeff was a lifelong automotive enthusiast, owning and working on many classic cars over the years and spreading that passion to his sons Jeff and David.
Jeff is preceded in death by his parents Larry and Carla, his uncle David Anderson, and his grandparents Bertram and Ethel (Vandenplas) Potter, and Carl and Florence (Jensen) Anderson.
He is survived by his wife; his children and grandchildren; his sister, Laura (Clifford) Zweibruck; brothers Bruce (Laura) Potter and Kevin (Dawn) Potter; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Family, friends, and others are invited to Querhammer & Flagg Funeral Home, 500 W Terra Cotta Ave, Crystal Lake, IL 60014, from 10am-2pm on June 1, 2024, to reminisce and honor Jeff’s life. Donations in Jeff's memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
