He was born February 1, 1930 in Chicago to Herbert Henry Milton and Margaret (Krossovitch) Zielke. On August 5, 1950 he married Josephine Accardo.
Herb was a proud veteran of the United States Army. He served as a Master Sergeant with the 187th Airborne Regimental Combat Team during the Korea War.
Herb enjoyed ballroom and square dancing, music, and golfing. He had a great sense of humor and was skilled at putting people at ease. Herb was a devoted husband and loved his family.
He is survived by his loving wife of almost 70 years, Josephine; his children, Linda, Herb, Jody, and Chris; his grandchildren, Amanda, Terra, Janelle, Nicole, Tony, Dana, Erin, Sierra, and Hannah; and his great-grandchildren, Evelyn, Nolan, Lily, Colton, and Leona.
Service will be at a later date when it is safe to gather.
