He was born July 13, 1924 in Dundee to Carl and Anna (Brettschneider) Krause. On July 13, 1950 he married Betty Jane Abrath.
Clarence worked at various lumber yards until his retirement. Following his retirement he enjoyed daily trips to the Crystal Lake Marathon station for a cup of coffee and good conversation. He also enjoyed tinkering with things at home. He was always there to help others. Clarence was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Betty Jane; his daughters, Donna (Jim) Staebell, Carol Krause, and Jeannie (Steve) Burkhart; his grandchildren, John (Katie), Alex (Erin), Dena, and George Arvanitis; and his great-grandchildren, Joey and Aubrey.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7pm on Thursday, December 10 at Querhammer & Flagg Funeral Home, 500 W. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake. Visitation will continue from 10am to 11am on Friday, December 11 at the funeral home. The service will be at 11am.
The interment will be private.
