CAROLEE KELLEY MURRAY

October 12, 1938 - August 6, 2023

Carolee Kelley Murray, age 84 passed gently into heaven on August 6, 2023 in Crystal Lake, IL.

She was born in Kansas City, Missouri and lived in both Kansas City and Leawood, Kansas. She moved to Illinois later in life.

Carolee was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother. Her passion in life was her family. When her children were young, she was involved in their school activities such as volunteering as classroom room mother, library volunteer, girl scout leader, birthday party planner/hostess, chauffeur, as well as nursing each of us us back to health when we were sick. She helped her husband in his businesses. This, just to name a few of the many hats she wore! She always kept an immaculate home and took wonderful care of her family. While not known for her cooking skills, her favorite thing to make for diner was reservations at her favorite restaurants. She was a woman of great physical beauty and inter-beauty. She was a member of Terrace Lake United Methodist Church in Kansas City, Missouri.

Carolee did a great deal of travelling throughout her life on family vacations and in later years travelling with her husband. Extensive trips to Canada and Alaska are special memories.

She had a great sense of humor and loved to tease and laugh. If she loved you, you knew it, and if she didn't like you, you knew that, too. She was a woman of grace and compassion, of high moral character, and great inner strength.

She is survived by her husband, William R. Murray, Crystal Lake, Il and two daughters, Marjorie Lauvstad of Kansas City Missouri, Kelley Murray Wall of the Chicago area and son, John William Murray of Leawood, Kansas; 6 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and 2 great, great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents Katherine Kelley and John Neal Kelley, both of Kansas City, Missouri.

Her passing creates a tremendous void for her family and friends here on earth.
