Brian S Akers

Brian Akers, 46, passed away May 13, 2015. He was born January 26, 1969 in Champaign, IL to Everett and Nancy Akers. Brian grew up in Villa Grove, received a Bachelor’s degree in Zoology, Botany, and Secondary Education with a Master’s in Physical Science and a minor in Chemistry from Eastern Illinois.

He had an undeniable passion for teaching and lifelong learning that has made an impact on so many of his students and colleagues. He will be remembered for his love of music, cycling, painting, and his enormous sweet tooth. He was a good friend to many and will be dearly missed. Sweet dreams BA, “The Man.”

Brian is survived by his daughter, Lauren Akers; his life partner, Aimee Harris, and her children, Sam and Nathan; and his brother, Ron (Jan) Akers.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
