William C. Bannister, Sr., age 72 of Hobart, passed away Wednesday, June 9, 2010. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Mary (nee Bedwell); two children: Bill (Amy) Bannister, Jr. of Valparaiso and Beth (Doug) Paul of Crown Point; four grandchildren: Lance and Christian Bannister both of Valparaiso, Cody and Kyle Paul both of Crown Point; one brother, Len (Linda) Bannister of Idaho; one sister, Etta (Jimmy) Williamson of Oklahoma; and several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his father, mother and beloved aunt, Violet.
Funeral services will be held Monday, June 14, 2010 at 11:30 a.m. at the Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 8178 Cline Ave., Schererville, IN with Randy Harrison, Minister, officiating. Burial at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, Schererville. Friends are invited to meet with the family on Sunday from 2:00-6:00 p.m. at the Chapel Lawn Funeral Home.
Mr. Bannister retired from Capital Engineering of Harvey, IL with 30 years of service. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was an avid fisherman.
