SHARON JANE KIRKLEY (NEE BAKER) GARY, IN Sharon Jane Kirkley (nee Baker), age 71, of Gary, IN passed away Saturday, January 12, 2013. She is survived by her husband, Jim; five children: Brenda DeRuiter, Glenda Holloway, Tammy J. (Walter) Sobczak of Lowell, IN, Cathy J. (James) Haltmar of Surprise, AZ, and Jerry Bradley; two step children: Khris Robertson and Scotty Kirkley; nine grandchildren: Brandi Lubbers, Harley Holloway, Harvel (Tabitha) Holloway, Stetson (Stephanie) Sabaitis, Haley Haltmar, Noah and Cole Robertson, and Troy and Ciarra Kirkley; thirteen great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Kirkley was preceded in death by her parents: James and Ruby Baker; and six siblings. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at 4:45 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 8178 Cline Ave. (one-half mile south of US 30), Schererville, IN Dr. Scott Hobbs officiating. Cremation will follow service. Friends are invited to meet with the family Wednesday, January 16, 2013 from 1:00-8:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home. Sharon was formerly a bartender at the Griffith VFW Post #9982. She was also a member of the VFW and American Legion Ladies Auxiliary.
