Raleigh Hinkle
May 13, 1939 – September 2, 2017

Raleigh Eugene Hinkle– Age 78, formerly of Gary, Indiana, went to be with his Lord and Savior on September 2, 2017. He is survived by his wife, Elaine; children John (Sandi) Hinkle, Harold (Sheri) Hinkle, Lauri (Mitchell) Gilmer, Ragen Alcocer, Theresa Jacobs, Raleigh Hinkle Jr. and son-in-law, Steve Pridmore; 14 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren; brothers, Harold (Diane) Hinkle and Danny (Linda) Robinson; sisters Elaine (Bill) Barnard and Joyce Scott. Raleigh is proceeded in death by his wife, Peggy (Stone) Hinkle; daughter, Diane Pridmore; granddaughters, Joylaine and Jonnica Downing; great-grandson, Kash Morrow; parents John G. Hinkle and Margaret Robinson; sister, Ruby Adams, and brothers Rabon Hinkle and Rondell Hinkle.
Mr. Hinkle was an associate pastor at New Bethel Primitive Baptist Church in Philadelphia, Mississippi, and retired from M & R Truck Repair and Eaglebrook Management. Mr. Hinkle was a life-long race fan and was a flagman at Southlake, Corbin, Kankakee, and Rensselaer Speedways. Mr. Hinkle often boasted that he was the track champion at Illianna Speedway in Schererville, IN in 1964.
Visitation will be Saturday, September 16, 2017, at 12:00 pm until the time of his memorial service at 1:00 pm at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home (8178 Cline Ave.; Schererville, IN 46375), with Elder Roger Parker officiating. Burial will be in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens
