I was another of those lucky ladies who met Pat when she joined the Bates sewing program. She was funny and kind, excelled at shopping for fabric and always expressed her love of family.  Pat relished her independence and loved getting out in the world, so "retiring" from driving was a big change for her. When she did quit, another friend and I would take turns running Pat to the mall or the grocery store or to Taco Time when she had a craving. Sometimes both of us would take her, especially if a lunch at Nordstrom was on the agenda. She was always gracious and appreciative, though we were the ones who were  lucky to be spending time with her.
The obit was lovely, and although I'm sorry to be learning of her passing so many months later, I am happy for the chance to remember my friend and enjoy her lovely photo.

I am very sorry to hear about Pat’s passing, and very much enjoyed reading the obituary provided by her family.  I had the pleasure of spending Wednesday’s with Pat as part of the Bate’s Technical College sewing lab family! As much as we shared during that time, I never learned that she was such an accomplished pianist. I, too, played piano, and imagine that she didn’t know that about me either 😉 I will remember Pat as a lovely, vital woman, and I am  so pleased that she enjoyed a long, fulfilled life.
