Nancy A Stivers

Nancy A. Stivers, age 86, of Saint John, Indiana passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 10, 2022 at her residence with her loving daughter at her side. Nancy is the loving wife for over 50 years to the late Herschel Stivers; devoted mother to Robert Stivers, Jerry (Vikki) Stivers, and Anita Miles; proud grandmother to Krystle (Jon) Barcus, Katelin Stivers, Elizabeth Miles, Bruce (Catherine) Miles and Kelly Kleine; great-grandmother to Jaxson Miles; beloved daughter to the late Warden and Lois Cutshall; cherished sister to Ron (Regina) Cutshall, and Jack (the late Karen) Cutshall; special sister-in-law to Donna Bottiger; special cousin to Carol Decker. Nancy received both her Masters and Bachelors degree from Valparaiso University. She devoted over 33 years with the Lake Central School System. She was the Band teacher and instructor for Kahler Middle School for 30 of those years, where her bands over the years won many awards. One of her proudest accomplishments was her band marching in the Chicago Christmas Parade. She was more than a teacher and an instructor to her band students. She was a friend, role model, and inspiration for her students. Nancy was a faithful and devoted member to Dyer United Methodist Church, where she was the choir director, and volunteered her time and talent whenever needed. Her family knows that she is now the band director for God's symphony in heaven. Visitation will be Monday, November 21, 2022 from 3:00-7:00 pm at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Tuesday, November 22, 2022 at 11:00 am at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens.
