Monica Mary Cwik

Monica Mary (nee Antonietti) Cwik, age 84, of Lowell, IN, formerly of Calumet City, IL, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 27, 2022. Monica was born May 20, 1938 in Chicago, IL to the late Bernard and Mary Rose (Bretz) Antonietti.

She was the beloved mother of Kevin Cwik, Bernadette Cwik, Sean (Jennifer) Cwik, Bridgette (Alexander) Bonilla, and Shane (Julie) Cwik; and the loving grandmother to Karina and Christopher Bonilla. She is survived by brother, Charles Antonietti; sister, Judy Antonietti; sister-in-law, Barbara Antonietti; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Monica was preceded in death by her parents, Bernard and Mary Rose (Bretz) Antonietti; her former husband, Frank S. Cwik; and brother, Edward Antonietti.

Monica was a stay-at-home mother and later obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Indiana University Northwest. Her many hobbies included gardening, canning fruits and vegetables, sewing, baking, cooking, and shopping. She loved watching TV, drinking coffee in the morning, and playing with her dog, Lucy.

Friends and family may visit on Friday, July 1, 2022 from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 8178 Cline Avenue, Crown Point, IN 46307. A private family burial will take place at a later date.
