Margaret Kidd

Margaret Kidd age 80, of Crown Point, Indiana peacefully passed away on Friday, March 31, 2017 with her loving and devoted daughter by her side. She is survived by her daughter, Susan (late Robert) Greco; sister, Veronica Cunningham; brother, Peter (Ann) Venstra; nephew, Clarence Cunningham; niece, Katie Venstra; nephew, Nick (Elizabeth) Venstra; nephew, Jonathan Venstra and nephew, David (Jackie) Venstra. Preceded in death by her husband, Herman Kidd and parents, Clarence and Susie Venstra. Margaret was born October 17, 1936 in Iowa City, Iowa and was a 1954 graduate of Crown Point High School. She attended Indiana University Northwest for 2 years. On August 24, 1956 she married the love of her life, Herman Kidd and together they shared 56 years of marriage. Margaret worked as a typist at the Lake County Title Company in Crown Point. She also was a substitute teacher for the Hanover School Corporation. She was an active member and past secretary of the Crown Point Garden Club, member and past president of the Lake County Extension Homemakers Club, the American Legion Auxiliary Post 20, the Eastern Star and was a Pioneer Girl Leader at her church. Margaret loved to square dance, camp, vacation with her family and attending church. Margaret was a loving wife and mother and will truly be missed by all whose lives she touched. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at 12:00 PM at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home (8178 Cline Avenue Schererville, IN) with Pastor Roy Richardson officiating. Interment to follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, Schererville, IN. Friends are invited to meet with the family on Tuesday morning from 10:00 AM until time of service at the funeral home.
