Karen was born October 13, 1938 in Philadelphia, PA to her parents, Loretta and Ernest Russell Christopher, who preceded her in death.
She is survived by three daughters; Pamela (Thomas) Chismar of Lansing, IL, Gail (Walter) LaFreniere of Dyer, IN, and Lori (Thomas) Proctor of Tinley Park, IL. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Julie (Chismar) Brown, Brian LaFreniere, Jennifer (Chismar) O'Donnell, Michael LaFreniere and Tommy Proctor; as well as several great-grandchildren.
Aside from her children, she is also survived by her beloved sister, Lynne (David) DeSalvo of Welton, AZ; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Karen was an avid reader and loved music. In her youth, she played several musical instruments but, as an adult, she loved playing the piano. She also enjoyed the relaxation and solitude when camping with her husband, and the fun and crazy times camping with her grandchildren.
Karen held several jobs during different periods of her life, but her biggest accomplishment was starting as a secretary of an insurance agency, learning the business, and then getting her license and becoming a self-employed independent agent all whilst raising a family.
She devoted her life to God and lived her life loving all people. She always saw the best in people and was always there to give a helping hand whenever needed. She and her husband spent several years ministering to the young people at Hessville Baptist Church as Youth Group Leaders. She truly treasured those times.
Karen was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, and will truly be missed by all whose lives she touched.
