John J. Montella, age 91, of Demotte, IN passed away February 17, 2020. He is survived by his wife Joyce; four children: Jan (Margaret) Montella, Gregory Montella, Katherine (Joel) Triemstra, and Dr. Anthony Montella; nine grandchildren: Brittany (T.J), Blake, Lisa (Michael), James, Jessica, Tyler (Katie) Jordan, Jonathon, and Juliana; three great-grandchildren; one brother James (Jean) Montella; one sister Louise Kouhn; and nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 22, 2020 at 10:00 AM at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 8178 Cline Ave (1/2 mile south of US 30), Crown Point, IN with Deacon Brian Nosbusch officiating. Burial to follow at Chapel Lawn Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family on Friday, February 21, 2020 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. John was a Korean War Veteran, Golden Glove Champion in 1943, and member of Local #5 for 50 years. He loved gardening, and following his grandchildren in all their sporting events.
