John "Budd" Holland Jr., age 85, of Hammond, Indiana passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 12, 2023 with his loving family at his side.
He is the loving husband of 61 years to Gloria Jean Holland; proud father to John Holland and Rebecca Eberle; cherished "Papa" to Heather Eberle, Derek Eberle, Cassandra (David) Wittkamp and John Holland II; great-grandfather to Noah and Scarlett; beloved son to the late John and Helen Holland; fond brother to Darlene (Charles) Dyke, Richard Holland, the late Virginia (Richard) Szymaszek and the late Delores (Ronald) Bach.
John honorably served in the United States Army. He retired after 34 years of faithful service at Inland Steel as a foreman #4BOF. After retirement he and his wife enjoyed spending time at their vacation home, fishing and on the water. He was an avid fan of his grandchildren's athletic activities.
Visitation will be Tuesday, January 17, 2023 from 2:00-7:00pm at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Wednesday, January 18, 2023 at 10:00 am at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home. He will be laid to rest at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens.
