He was born on February 19, 1951 in Hammond, IN. He was the son of Roy and Jackie Farster. On September 1, 1990, he married the love of his life, Barbara McNealy, until her passing on October 28, 2011.
He is survived by four children, Jack (Renea) Farster, Jr. of Donnellson, IA, Jason Farster of Miller, IN, Jill Farster of Black Oak, IN, and Adam (Kristen) Farster of Valparaiso, IN; six grandchildren, Katelyn Farster, Dakota Farster, Jason Farster, Jr., Nicholas Farster, Lorelai Farster, and Emily Farster; and great- grandchildren, Dixie Farster and Marlo Farster.
He is also survived by his sister, Susan (Dan) Yark of Georgia and brother, Lee Farster of Utah.
He was a union laborer with Gil Behling for 27 years. Jack loved fishing and traveling. He was a loving father, grandfather, and friend.
He will be laid to rest on April 14, 2025 at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, 8178 Cline Avenue, Crown Point, IN 46307.
