Henry O. Mendoza

Henry was the loving husband to the late Rose Mendoza; devoted father to Henry (Margaret) Mendoza, Jr., Rudy Mendoza, Larry (Traci) Mendoza, Margaret (Richard) Buckler and Rosemary Mendoza; proud grandfather to 16; great-grandfather to many; cherished brother to Abel Mendoza; and uncle to many.

He was preceded in death by his grandson, Johnny Igras; siblings, Robert Mendoza, Daniel Mendoza, Steve Mendoza, Josephine Castro and Kate Molina; and niece, Yvonne Arzola.

Henry retired in 1981 as a mechanic at Inland Steel. He was an avid gardener and loved being in his yard. Henry could normally be found in his garage, tinkering and scrapping used material. He enjoyed passing time by playing cards, especially with his family.

Visitation will be Monday, January 8, 2024 from 11:00 AM until the time of his Funeral at 1:00 PM at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 8178 Cline Avenue, Crown Point, IN 46307. He will be laid to rest next to his wife at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens.
