Heather White

Heather White, age 50, of Cedar Lake, IN passed away on Friday, November 24, 2023 with her loving family at her side. Heather is the loving wife to Glenn White; devoted mother to Tyler Mason, Alex Mason, Zachary White, Alexander (Taylor) White, and Alaina White; proud grandmother to Belle Mason, Hunter White and Oaklee White; cherished daughter to Kenneth and Caryn Moore; fond sister to Chris (Angie) Moore and Rebecca Kruit; loving aunt to A.J. and Josh Moore, and Lucy and Ricki Kruit. Heather received her Bachelor's and two Master's Degrees in Education from Indiana University. She was a Special Education Science teacher at Bloom Township High School in Chicago Heights. She was a passionate advocate for special education students. She spent many after-school hours tutoring her students and helping them thrive with their academics. Heather enjoyed the outdoors, but especially loved the ocean. Her favorite spot was North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, where she and her husband were married. Heather was delighted at her wedding, standing in the Atlantic Ocean and her brother officiating the ceremony. Heather especially loved spending time with her family, which was most important to her. Visitation for Heather will be Sunday, December 3, 2023 from 1:00 PM until the time of her Celebration of Life at 4:00 PM at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 8178 Cline Avenue, Crown Point, IN 46307.
