Today I am sitting in a beautiful church built in part by the efforts and resources of Jim Smith. Although it has been a year since his passing Jim’s life will make a difference for Eternity.

I miss you so much, Dad.  I just wanted you to know that Justin and I fished for the first time in your boat yesterday.  He drove us to your favorite special spot right at the tip of the sandbar.  We caught many HUGE blue gills.  We hope you were watching from heaven as we fished in your boat and we shared our memories of you together.  Justin took great care of Mom this week and fixed all kinds of things in the house and the yard for her.  We all miss you terribly.  I've been watering your lawn all summer and mom's flowers.  You'd be proud of how green your grass is!  Mom misses you every second.   I love you, Dad.  Love, Wendy

Dear Bonnie, Shawnee, and Wendy, 

I am so sorry for your loss! 

Your dad was such a wonderful Christian man who I always looked up to since I was a child.  He always could put a smile on my face and I always knew he cared for me.  He was an excellent example of a Christian man!  I know without a doubt he is up in heaven praising God!

I am so sorry for your loss.  Praying for you and your family.  Jim was a good man who loved the Lord, he will be missed.

I always remember when I would go with Shawnie  to visit them Jim was always anxious to get out on his boat and take us for a ride he loved doing that . He  will be loved and missed by all but , thank God he's looking down on us ALL❣️

We always remember Jim with a smile on his face. He was happy to greet all who came his way with such a cheerful heart. We have many wonderful memories of our time together at Hessville. We know he’ll be greatly missed by his sweet family and many friends. Our love, The Percifields, Glen and Letty 

Every time Jimmy would always take time out and talk one on one with me. I always appreciated that as I grew up. I have the fondest memories of his gentle voice and demeanor. Indeed, the world could use way more Jimmy's.

We will certainly miss Jim and his heart of love. His hospitality and gentle spirit were so inspiring. I know God welcomed him home and Jim heard the words: "Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord." To Bonnie and your family.  You are in our thoughts and prayers in this difficult time.  Unfortunately we can’t make it to the services but we are there in our thoughts.  I will never forget the times we visited late nights with TP and Jim would chase us away and the times I would occasionally stop by when you lived in schererville  at the end of my day. Dear Bonnie and daughters,
Oh how  sad and sorry I am to have heard the loss of your precious Jim. 
He is now dancing on streets of gold with Jesus. Praise His Holy name. 
We loved talking and spending time with you and Jim at your home and at church.  What a man of God. And so tender spirited. 
Also a fun guy to be around.

Bonnie and family,  Jim was a wonderful caring part of our church and lives.  We missed his smile and faithfulness after Covid hit and life as we knew it changed for so many.  Just know our prayers and thoughts were with you and Jim even though we weren’t physically with you. Just hearing the name Jim Smith brings a smile to my face.  But today my heart is sad and heavy with his passing from this life.  The joy of knowing we share faith in Christ and the promise of new life makes the day a bit lighter. Being in Jim’s church family was always interesting, his energy was contagious. Nobody could match Jim’s work ethic. He always got the job done with a cheerful attitude and on budget. Condolences to Bonnie and all the family and friends that were blessed with having Jim in their daily lives. 

Jim & Joyce took me in without hesitation when I needed a place to stay while traveling for business! The wonderful food, great accommodations and warm friendship will be so missed. When I lost Guy they were such great sources of love & support when I needed them the most! Thanks Dad - I will miss your gentle voice, beautiful smile & super hugs.

What an awesome picture of our good friend Jim.  Dennis has some great fishing stories with Jim over the years.  Hard to believe he is gone; he will be incredibly missed.  Our family is deeply saddened, but have full confidence that he made the best catch up in heaven.  We all love Mr Jim Smith!
