Evelyn L. Ward

EVELYN STANDEFER WARD (NEE DALTON) HAMMOND, IN Evelyn Standefer Ward (nee Dalton), age 74 of Hammond, passed away Wednesday, April 21, 2010 at Lincolnshire Health Care Center where she spent the last six and a half years. She was born January 5, 1936 in Alton, IL. Evelyn was the daughter of the late Stanley and Stella Dalton. She was a loving sister, mother, grandmother, and friend. Evelyn is survived by her sister, Edith Ann (Larry) McDonald of Alton, IL; three sons: Ed Standefer, Cliff (Rose Ann) Standefer of Hammond, and Jeff (Pam) Standefer of Portage; 10 grandchildren: Anna, Marcie, Cherri, Sarah, Kim, Jeff, Misty, Jody, Brandy, and Kevin; five great grandchildren: Corben, Briana, Jacob, Kristi, and Lilly; as well as nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 24, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at in the Chapel at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, 8178 Cline Ave., Schererville, IN. Evelyn worked for many years at American Can in Hammond until she retired. She enjoyed going camping during the summer. Evelyn also dearly loved her three Shih Tzu's named: MoJo, MoJet and Bandit. She surely will be missed.
