Esther M. Johnsen

Esther M. Johnsen, age 68, of Highland, IN, passed away on Thursday, November 3, 2022, surrounded by family. She was born to the late, John W. and Esther C. (Brink) Woolard on March 9, 1954, in Hammond, IN.

She is welcomed in to eternity by her beloved husband, of 40 years, Robert A. Johnsen, parents, John and Esther Woolard; and sister, Carla Nasca.

Esther leaves behind her children: Robert (Amanda) Johnsen, Jonathan (Jaime) Johnsen, Brandi (Phillip Jackson) Johnsen; grandchildren, Andrew and Nicholas Johnsen, Katelin and Bianca Sears, Rylie Kolodziej, and siblings, Joan (Jim) Janson of Aurora, IL, Ken (late Jean) Woolard, of Wheatfield, IN, and her rescue dog, Bambi, who is seen pictured with her.

She will always be remembered as an individual who adored her family so much. Esther's world revolved around her children and grandchildren. She made scrapbooks for them, quilted, attended all their events, and included them in everything she did. Outside of making memories she liked walking her dog, Bambi and taking trips to the Casino. Prior to retirement, Esther worked for Kay Manufacturing and Munster lumber. Her unconditional love will be missed by all who knew her.

A public visitation for Esther will be held Tuesday, November 8, 2022, from 3PM to 6PM at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 8178 Cline Avenue, Crown Point, Indiana 46307. A celebration of life prayer service will begin at 5:30PM. Private burial to take place at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery in the Garden of Eternal Love.
