Doris Mary Smith Overstreet

DORIS M. OVERSTREET (NEE SMITH) DYER, IN Doris Mary Overstreet (nee Smith), age 91, of Dyer, IN passed away Monday, April 14, 2014. She is survived by her three children: Larry (Pam) Overstreet of Colorado Springs, CO, Nancy Glandon of Dyer, IN and Janice Garrett of Sweden; ten grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; and niece, Diane (Jeff) Landon of Illinois. Mrs. Overstreet was preceded in death by her husband, Paul; and daughter, Karen Tibbits. Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 26, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 8178 Cline Ave., (one-half mile south of U.S. 30) Schererville, IN with Pastor Steve Jones officiating. Private Interment will follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, Schererville, IN. Friends are invited to meet with the family Friday, April 25, 2014 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home.

Mrs. Overstreet was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church in Highland, IN and was the former chairman of the White Cross for the A.B.W.M.. She retired from Hammond Public School System (Kenwood School). Doris was a great mother who loved her children dearly.
