Charlie Hall

Charlie is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Shirley Mae Hall (Demis); sister, Patty Sharp; very special sister-in-law, Linda Newcomb; daughter, Linda "Irene" Hall-Sternberg; and son-in-law to be, Wayne Rollo, Jr.; grandchildren, Charlie (Crystal) Hall III, Melissa (Joel) Pomales, Matthew Miniel, Christy (Jason) Lach, Aimee (Levi) Quarles, Angela (Jonathan) Houston, and Zachary (Teague) Hall; great-grandchildren, Andrea, Lucas, Cassondra, Colin, Kael, Alysha, Victoria, Bradley, London, Noah, James, Leah and Amelia; and great-great-grandchildren, Amias and Amariah.

He was preceded in death by his parents; children, Terry Lynn, Cindy Lou and Charlie David, Jr.; brothers, Frank and Bob Hall; and his beloved dog, Sandie.

Charlie was born in Water Valley, MS. His jobs included setting up bowling pins and oiler at EJE Mill in Gary. He was an independent truck driver and member of teamster Local #142 for over 40 years, and retired from US Steel. He and his wife enjoyed bowling, square dancing and singing karaoke together. Charlie and his wife were past members of Bible Baptist Church of Portage, where they sang together. He loved fishing, playing billiards, dirt track racing and NASCAR. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Visitation will be Wednesday, April 9, 2025 from 2:00 - 8:00 pm at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 8178 Cline Avenue, Crown Point, IN 46307. Funeral services will be Thursday, April 10, 2025 at 11:30 am, also at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, with John Williams officiating. He will be laid to rest in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens.
