Cathy A. Penna

Cathy was the loving wife of 35 years to Vince Penna; proud mother to Marcy Penna, Catrina (Eric) Okerstrom and Grace Penna; Nana “C” to Ava Rae Okerstrom; cherished daughter to the late John and Marcy Graefen; beloved step-daughter to Roberta “Bobbie” Graefen; daughter-in-law to Pamella Penna; fond sister to John Graefen, Ed Graefen, Susie Partacz, the late Scott Housinger, Debby Housinger, George (Ellen) Strickland, Donna (Chris) Coleman, and the late Richard “Douza” Strickland; sister-in-law to the late Maria Penna; favorite aunt to Alyssa (Ryan) Kutak, Kyle Partacz and Scott Partacz; beloved dog whisperer to Marlee and Dudley, and grandpups Cookie and Bentley.

Cathy was a 1983 graduate of George Washington High School. She developed many lifelong relationships for being a devoted and loyal employee. Cathy was very athletic, enjoyed running and was dedicated to her fitness. She was also very involved and the biggest cheerleader for her daughter’s softball and dancing. She was a joy to many people’s lives and will always be remembered for her infectious smile and positive energy, being the first one in the Conga line, encouraging others to dance and being the life of the party.

Visitation will be Thursday, September 22, 2002 from 2:00 - 8:00 PM at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 8178 Cline Avenue, Crown Point, IN 46307. Funeral Services will be Friday, September 23, 2022 at 10:00 AM at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens.
