Barbara Kissee

Barbara Kissee, age 78, of Crown Point, passed away peacefully on August 11, 2016 at St. Margaret Hospital in Dyer, IN with loving family at her side. Barbara Kissee was born October 29, 1937 to the late C. William and Helen (Doan) Chansler. Also preceding her in death are loving husband of 59 years Raymond Kissee, who passed away in May 2016, and a grandson. Left to cherish her memory are her children, David (Kimberly) Kissee, Terri (Randy) Wierzbicki, Donald (Julie) Kissee, Lisa (Stephen) Grdina, and a step daughter Deborah (Steve) Grimm; 13 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren; sister, Wilma (Bob); brother, Dennis (Barbara); and several nieces and nephews. She is a 1955 Hammond High School graduate, and 1974 Purdue University School of Nursing graduate. She spent most of her nursing career at Jones/ Hammond Clinic. Lifetime and faithful member of Southside Christian Church of Munster, where she shared her singing talent as a vocalist and was a member of their Morning Star Ladies Group. Barbara was a Past Honored Queen of Job's Daughter's Bethel #14, Past Guardian of Bethel #14, a two time Past Worthy Matron of Abbie Hanson Chapter Order of the Eastern Star, where she was a fifty year member. Visitation will be Monday, August 15, 2016 from 3-8 pm with an Eastern Star Tribute at 7:30 pm at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home (8178 S. Cline Ave.; Schererville, Indiana 46375). Funeral services will be Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at 10:00 am at Southside Christian Church (1000 Broadmoor; Munster, Indiana 46321) with Pastor Mike Gillespie officiating. Burial will be in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be given towards the family for a charity to be decided at a later date.
