Arthur Reed Taylor

Arthur Reed Taylor, age 66, of Griffith, IN, joined his heavenly father on September 24, 2023 at St. Anthony Franciscan Hospital in Crown Point, IN. Arthur was born on September 25, 1956 to beloved parents Robert and LaVonne (Boelt) Taylor in Hammond, IN.

Arthur was a kind, gentle, and thoughtful soul and will be deeply missed by family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Taylor, Sr.; brother, Robert Taylor, Jr.; and grandmother, Beulah Ashland. He is survived by his mother, LaVonne Taylor of Demotte, IN; siblings, Saundra Taylor (Ken Huhn) of Demotte, IN, Cathy (Timothy) Cheek of London, KY, and Brian (Susan) Taylor of O'Fallon, IL. He was also the treasured uncle to ShaVonne (Ben) Bradley, Ryan Taylor (Cristin Huber), Philip (Chyrell) Brever, Emily (Jeffrey) Rodriguez, Meagan (Robert) Koss, and Nathan Stettnisch; as well as great-uncle of Lillian, Lydia, Carmen, Carter, Carson, Franchezko, Lucas, Alex, Cayden, and Theo.

Arthur was a Veteran of the United States Navy and an esteemed retired employee of Huhtamaki Inc. of Hammond, IN. Arthur was deeply religious and enjoyed many philosophical and spiritual readings and conversations. He had a wonderful sense of humor and was the source of endless laughter for family, friends, and co-workers; to know Arthur was truly to love him.

A Public Visitation for Arthur will be held Friday, September 29, 2023 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 8178 Cline Avenue, Crown Point, IN 46307. Funeral Service to honor Arthur will begin at 6:00 PM, with Pastor Kevin Groben officiating. Private committal service will occur at a later date in the Garden of Christus at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
