Armando "Arman" Rocha, age 84, passed away peacefully on June 9, 2013. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Herminia C. Rocha; children: Ruben (Jill) Rocha, Olga Jimenez, and Monica (Andrew) Mula; grandchildren: Gina (Saul) Jimenez-Avila, Ricky F. Jimenez, Zachary, Cassie, Jake and Hunter Rocha, and Melissa, Michael and Matthew Mula; great grandfather of five; brother of Christina Garcia, Ismael Rocha, Esther Guerrero, Rudolfo Rocha, Henry Rocha and Elvira Alaniz. Preceded in death by his siblings: Frank Rocha and Leonora Lezama. Armando was a decorated Korean War veteran serving in the U.S. Army 2nd Infantry. He retired from Indiana Harbor East #2 Cold Strip Mill as a mechanic for 35 years. He was a member of the American Legion post 260, former secretary of Local 1010, active member of AFL-CIO. He was also a dedicated parishioner of Nativity of Our Savior Catholic Church in Portage, IN. "Arman" was famous for his one-line zingers. He loved casinos, festivals, cold beer and good food and attending Inland Steel's annual retiree picnic. He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him. Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 14, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home (8178 Cline Ave. Schererville, IN). Interment Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. Friends are invited to visit with the family on Thursday, June 13, 2013 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
