Patrick was born in Manhattan on December 10, 1937. He attended Xavier High School (Class of ‘55) and Holy Cross College (Class of ‘59). After college, Patrick served two years in the United States Navy aboard the U.S.S. Hale. Following his military service, Patrick studied at Fordham University School of Law, where he served on Law Review. He received his law degree in 1964. After law school, Patrick held a two-year clerkship with United States District Court Judge Harold R. Tyler, Jr. and following his clerkship, he became an associate with the firm of Cahill Gordon Reindel & Ohl. In 1968, he joined the firm of McCormick Dunne & Foley, where he spent the remainder of his lengthy and distinguished career. While there, Patrick worked alongside his late brother, John, and, more recently, his son, Christopher.
Patrick met his wife of 43 years, Patricia D’Alvia, in law school. In addition to Patricia and Christopher, he is survived by his sister, Mary, two daughters, Danielle and Megan, a daughter-in-law, Barbara, a son-in-law, Angus, and five grandchildren, Keelyn, Aidan, Declan, Anelise and Luca Patrick.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 19, 2010 at the EDWARD F. CARTER FUNERAL HOME, 41 Grand Street, Croton-on-Hudson, NY from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, November 20th at 10:30 am at Holy Name of Mary Church in Croton. Interment will follow at Bethel Cemetery also in Croton.
