Edward (Ed, Eddie) Patrick Langan Jr., 49, of Rutherford, NJ passed away on January 30th, 2022. He was born on September 20th, 1972 in South Easton, MA to Barbara and Edward Langan Sr. He is survived by his loving father, Edward Langan Sr., his younger brother, Daniel Langan and his wife Maria, as well as an extended family of aunts, uncles and cousins.
Ed attended elementary and middle schools in Croton-on-Hudson, NY and high school at John F. Kennedy in Somers, NY. He began college studies at Sullivan County Community College and received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Television Broadcasting from Buffalo State University in Buffalo, NY.
He began his career as a cameraman covering live music events and studio news. Ed joined CNN, where he spent over 20 years behind the camera. During his tenure with CNN, he worked in the New York City studio and traveled to various locations around the country, covering many presidential debates and elections.
When not working, Ed treasured the time spent with family and his almost daily conversations with his brother. His enthusiasm for music was well known and as an avid concert goer, he loved to attend the local and national concerts of his favorite bands. Ed had an enormous heart, was always kind and had a love for life. Once you met Ed, he considered you his friend. Many were lucky to share this friendship with him, especially through his love of music and food. He found common ground with everyone and could converse at length about anything.
The good vibes Ed sent into this universe will continue to ripple beyond his mortal time.
Visitation will be held on Monday, February 7, 2022 from 1-4pm and Tuesday, February 8th from 4-7pm at the EDWARD F. CARTER FUNERAL HOME, 41 Grand St., Croton-on-Hudson, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00am on Wednesday February 9th at Holy Name of Mary Church in Croton-on-Hudson. Burial will follow at Bethel Cemetery also in Croton.
