Violet Carol Payne

She is survived by her beloved husband of 54 years Bill Payne, sons and daughter in laws Ryan and Roslyn Payne and Justin and Amy Payne, grandchildren Clayton, Riane, and Karly Payne, brothers Wayne, Jarrold, Doyle, and Johnny, several cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Carol was born March 30th, 1948 in Kanawha County and grew up roaming the fields of Rocky Fork with her family. She now joins both her parents, Ivan and Violet Lanham, and sister, Charlotte Finney in the house of the Lord.

As a graduate of Nitro high school, class 1965, Carol went on to work at Thomas Memorial Hospital for 48 years until she retired to enjoy life with her husband, family, grandchildren and dog, Midnight. She was a member of Baber Agee Church her entire adult life until recently when her health limited her attendance.

Please join us in honoring Carol’s life Tuesday, August 15, 2023 at Tyler Mt. Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Tyler Mt. Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes.

Gathering of family and friends will be from noon until time of service at the funeral home.
