I worked with Oscar at Krogers in Charleston as his assistant manager, and he was so good and kind to me.  Oscar was great to work with  and a really good guy. My thoughts go out to his family, especially Lana.

One of my favorite memories of Buddy (my cousin) was when I was very young and he was running a Kroger store.  I admired some white fluffy decorations hanging from the store ceilings; they looked like stars to me.  He got a ladder, cut one down, and handed it to me.  My cousin gave me a Star of my very own  :).    I am so very sorry for the family's loss and please do know my heart breaks for all of you.  Prayers and more prayers going out over all of you. I'm so sorry to hear of Oscar's passing.  You probably won't remember me; however, Harold Johnson worked for Kroger also.  We moved to NC in 1999 and Harold passed away in 2005. Mr. Frye was my first boss.  The day I turned 16, he hired me as a cashier at Krogers in Dunbar.  He was always supportive and treated everyone with kindness and respect.  A wonderful legacy to leave.  My thoughts and prayers are with your family.

Although we lived in different places and only spent less than two weeks together in Jamaica on a mission building venture, I quickly appreciated Buddy's quiet sense of humor and his caring personality. I quickly made new friends with both him and Lana and regret that we were not able to visit with them more often. My thoughts and prayers and blessings go out to all the family. A tragic loss!
