Michael James Ols (Turtle) passed away unexpectedly on March 9, 2024, at his home in Cross Lanes, WV. He was born on August 19, 1970 in Cleveland, OH. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Debbie Ols, his parents, Patricia Mihaly (Harless) and Charles Ols of Cleveland Ohio, grandmother, Juanita Sloan, who he called Mom, and sister, Jackie Knight. Michael was survived by his stepson, Charles Berkimer (Amber), grandfather, Dewie Sloan Sr., brothers, William Harless and Dewie Michael Sloan. Also survived by his great aunt, Dimple Jean Farmer and aunt, Maysel Lara, nephew Zachary Harless, nieces, Candice Murphy, Hunter and Daisy Sloan and many cousins.
Michael was raised in Cross Lanes by his grandparents and graduated from Nitro High School in 1988. He was employed as a Sheet Metal Journeyman, out of Local 33, Charleston, WV. He was retired from Apache M/C, where he enjoyed riding his Harley for many years with his brothers and friends. He was an avid outdoors person and he loved hunting and fishing with his family and friends. Micheal was kindhearted and soft-spoken and generous to a fault, and he will be greatly missed by all who loved him.
Celebration of Turtle’s life will be 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, March 19, 2024 at Tyler Mt. Funeral Home with Celebrant HR Whittington officiating.
Gathering of family and friends will be from 11 until time of service at the funeral home.
